A couple notes as I’m thinking through this…..

I have been fully transparent with Dr Francis, my oncologist - ESPECIALLY during chemo….

  • Functional Medicine can be fringe AF - I take ALL OF IT with a grain of salt, and i’ve had success over the years with this approach. I’m just now starting with this practice, so I don’t have much feedback - other than I refuse to step into the office because they don’t believe in masks -they are the only game int own, so I feel my hands are tied

  • Compounding Pharmacy - if my memory is accurate, Sue can compound the estrogen blockers. I know for sure she can’t compound the aromatase inhibitors - she has decades’ experience assisting people confronting complex situations - I also get my Low Dose Naltrexone from her - prescribed by my psychiatrist - previously my PCP

  • Rolfing - Structural Integration - bodywork that manipulates fascia/connective tissue to resolve postural and other problems. The full series is 10, though I think I ended up going 13 times due to how much dissection there was in may armpit (21 nodes). Brian was 1000000000000% appropriate in all of his touch - clearly trauma-informed - funny - and I would be going to him regularly, but I don’t need to

  • Herbs - I work with Adrienne, who i’ve known for years. She is one of a handful of herbalists with the level of training/certification she has, and she has been prescribing me herbs for about 5 years. She knows how to avoid hormonal interactions, etc…

  • Kambo - this is medicine from the Amazon, and the practitioner I’m working with is connected with an organization that is guided by a tribe. Meaning - this is NOT recreational in the least, and it is deeply rooted in Spirit. This is part of my Practice. Liz is a newer guide, and I’ve known her for about 10 years. She has been a student/trainee of mine - I have done a 5-day private retreat and am heading back in April for another 4 days. I am transparent with my therapists about this and haven’t informed my oncologist because i’m out of active treatment. YMMV
