Neurolinguistic Programming and the Wellness to Supremacy Pipeline
This morning, I live streamed some thoughts about Neurolinguistic Programming and how the TOOL (not necessarily the people using it) is part of the wellness-to-supremacy pipeline. Here’s that video - and some thoughts in general.
Neurolinguistic Programming (NLP) is a powerful tool that has been used to shape how we think and feel about ourselves. But, it's also been linked to white supremacy — an ideology that values whiteness above all else. According to some experts, NLP can be seen as part of the larger “wellness-to-white-supremacy” pipeline, a system which encourages people to adopt white supremacist beliefs.
NLP originated in the 1970s as an attempt to understand the relationship between language and behavior. It is based on the idea that if people are able to change their thought patterns and behaviors, they will be able to overcome psychological problems. However, NLP has been used in a variety of ways to promote white supremacy, such as promoting the idea that people should aspire to be “white-washed” versions of themselves in order to achieve success and acceptance.
In recent years, some have argued that NLP is part of a larger system which encourages people to adopt supremacist beliefs. This system is known as the “wellness-to-supremacy” pipeline, and it involves using wellness approaches such as NLP to subtly promote white supremacy.
In addition, some experts argue that NLP can be used to manipulate people into believing certain misinformation about racism and white supremacy. For example, NLP techniques can be used to make people believe that racism is a thing of the past and that white people are superior to all others.
NLP is an incredibly powerful tool, and it can be used for good or bad.
